Its with a heavy heart that I have received the news of my brother Dikembe Disembe and the ruling by Magistrate #Nderitu, as a law abiding Kenyan I will not go into the legality and dimensions of the case because first am not a lawyer and secondly I am still living in the illusion that the judiciary is independent and can be trusted to make free and fair ruling. My focus is on the level of courage and resolve by which this Kenyan faced this predicament . He stood firm without complaining nor crying as he stood firm for what he believes in, make me think of the saying that we would better die standing and live on our knees . On the day news came that Dikembe was summoned everyone was shouting with threats and promises on how the whole #CORD team will stand by this great scribe and from their comments this looked like a CORD matter, for those with interest and followed this matter today, it is very clear that Dikembe was on this alone and the only people making calls and trying something are his close friends and not the institution he stood firm for, wrote in defense of and made a case for their course in his online blogs , as a nation we need to stand by each other so that the war can be own, we cannot be an army that abandons its soldiers in the battle field, those are signs of an army that has a fundamental flaw in its structure and fighting a war without a plan nor a team. Where is everyone who promised to mobilize #CORD to court today. It brings in what I have always said that this is a war between friends using their tribes and the rest are just tools of the game, the rich using their poor tribesmen and middle class to fight their shadow war,. I remember when #KethiKilonzo stole a voters card and all the big guns stood by her in court, how comes everyone was so busy the day Dikembe went to court? If its as the son/daughter of any of the big guns all would have been there to give support . This nation need a re-awakening and re-birth. I know some of you who promised to stand by Dikembe today are going to insult me but truth be said, as a team, we failed this soldier.
