Its with great sadness that I write this post - Just a few hours ago, during emergency surgery, Ignacio passed away. This morning the vet came in to see Ignacio...he was laying quietly- when usually he was greeted with some barks & tail wags. Ignacios stomach was hugely swollen. He immediately prepped Ignacio for emergency surgery & contacted Yomara, our Coordinator in Mexico. Ignacios body was not strong enough to endure the swelling or the surgery. He passed away with the person who knew him best &grew to care for him very much, the veterinarian. Ignacios veterinarian said the cause was Torcion volvulo gastrica or gastric twisting. Ignacio went peacefully and knew love & kindness thanks to Priscila, Yomara, his veterinarian & all those that helped support him through prayers, shares, donations, kind words & following his journey...He is in a better place.... I know of some wonderful people & fur friends up there that Im sure welcomed him with love & open arms- hes in good company & never will know pain or sadness again. ~Rest in Peace, Ignacio ~ Thank you for coming into our lives & making so many aware of the desperate need for help with the strays in Tijuana- your life had much meaning & we will continue to fight even harder to help all those other dogs & cats on the streets.
