It’s Day of The Dead here in Sayulita, Mexico, November 2. There - TopicsExpress

It’s Day of The Dead here in Sayulita, Mexico, November 2. There is a grave marked Cory in the local graveyard (photo with surf boards) and each time I come to Sayulita I pass by it on my way to Playa de los Muertos. This weekend, in celebration of his short life, family and friends have painted, polished and planted flowers on his grave site. Cory is not forgotten. This surfer kid was killed a few years ago when he fell from the back of a truck. He was only twelve and enjoying his youth, family and friends on Playa Sayulita when his life was cut short. He reminds me of my friend Gordie Troy who was killed in a car accident fifty-one years ago about this time of the year. Gordie was only nineteen, just graduated from high school and starting a career. What friends and I have been lucky to experience in all those past years has been astonishing. Cory and Gordie never made those years. This is just and incident in my life I thought I would share.
