It’s Tuesday and I’m late getting this posted. Some unplanned schedule juggling yesterday afternoon and this morning with training classes. Continuing the journey of listening to every album listed it the book “1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die” by Robert Dimery and Michael Lydon. In my Saturday post I realized that I was approaching the book all wrong. I will be starting at the beginning of the book and going through what the authors and contributing critics deemed the most influential albums of each decade. There is no “best” album, just “important” albums. Here is my playlist for work today, July 16th: The 1950’s Continued 0008 Fats Domino – This Is Fats 0009 Count Basie & His Orchestra – The Complete Atomic Basie 0010 Thelonious Monk – Brilliant Corners 0011 Sabu – Palo Congo 0012 Miles Davies – Birth of Cool 0013 Machito – Kenya 0014 Little Richard – Here’s Little Richard 0015 Tito Puente – Dance Mania Vol. 1 Here’s yesterday’s playlist with my rating from 1 (best) to 5 (worst): 0001 Frank Sinatra – In the Wee Small Hours (4) 0002 Elvis Presley – Elvis Presley (4) 0003 The Louvin Brothers – Tragic Songs of Life (3) 0004 Louis Prima – The Wildest! (5) 0005 Duke Ellington – Duke Ellington at Newport (4) 0006 Frank Sinatra – Songs for Swingin’ Lovers (5) 0007 Buddy Holly & The Crickets – The “Chirping” Crickets (5) Now, back to work…
