It’s a choking pill for a city that has swallowed — literally — a century of pollution in the name of someone else’s profits. Couldnt have said it better myself. If Waukegan wants to revitalize its lakefront and attract new, young residents to invest in the community then it should demand a long-term transition plan for the plant and a future beyond its polluted, industrial past. Not demanding that certainty of other industries on the lakefront has only resulted in those corporations abandoning their workers and tax base while also leaving a devastating legacy of contamination that tax-payers are still paying for. #cleanwaukegan #nrgenergy #politicalcourage #generationchange
