It’s a somewhat amusing fact that every year we push, push, push - TopicsExpress

It’s a somewhat amusing fact that every year we push, push, push for MONTHS for bands to submit to FLMF. We take submissions for 3 ½ months. We make announcements and ask everyone to put the word out. We post a clear deadline (January 15th). Then, without fail, we get a flood of band submissions AFTER the deadline. And we usually continue to get late band submissions right up until the very day of the event. There is a process that we use to select bands for this event. We have limited time to do everything that must be done to make the selections in a timely fashion so that bands have time to respond and accept, decline and/or make plans, and also so we can make a clear schedule so that there is no last minute confusion. If we honor late submissions, it throws a wrench into the process. We have in the past bent the rules to be cool, but it is really such a pain that we have decided not to do that anymore and stick with the policy we have in place. Its nothing personal and we know there are a tone of great bands out there that may not have even heard of this event until it was past the deadline. We wish every band that was interested would submit on time, but we realize there are a myriad of reasons why a band might not have. But the fact is, if you did not get your submission in by the deadline, your too late. But we hope you will keep in touch and submit again next year during the 3 -½ months that we are actually taking band submissions. We take band submissions for the following year’s event between October 1st and January 15th. Again, please understand, it’s nothing personal. We have no intention of insulting anyone. If your in a metal band, you rule, whether you are selected or not, or whether you got your submission in on time or not. Stay cool, keep it metal \m/
