It’s alright if we don’t see eye to eye with our children and if they, in return, don’t agree with us. We would never expect everyone to agree with us all the time, so why should it be any different with our children? When we make the leap to accepting that our children aren’t here to make us happy, or visa versa, we can rise to a place where we are together to support, to laugh, to Be, to care and to love each other, in spite of differences that may arise. People change, grow, experience and experiment, we do as parents and they do as children. Therefore, it’s alright to express our differences, as it offers different perspectives and in turn it’s alright to shift our perspective to the best feeling options when others, even our children, express their disagreement. We can all learn from each other and when we grow together it is a wonderful thing.
