It’s that time again! Dane County Fair is having its Rabbit Giveaway! Brenda Reilly and Christi Ringelstetter are hosting a rabbit giveaway for kids in Dane County We are looking for 20 show quality and 5 pet rabbits to be given away on Sunday July 21th. (No wool breeds please) We will be picking up rabbits at the Show this Sunday. (Between the Lakes Show) or we can make arrangements to pick them up if you live near us. (Stoughton, WI.) Purpose is: To increase the number of kids in the rabbit project. Here is how the give away works: 1. It is open to any currently enrolled youth (4-H, FFA, ect…) that are not currently enrolled in the rabbit project. 2. Kids that only have a pet rabbit can sign up for a breed class rabbit. 3. They agree to sign up and show the rabbit the next year. We have really increased the project and have several of the new kids showing at the area shows too! Each child is given WSRBA and ARBA membership information and a list of the upcoming fall shows. The rabbits are put on display on Sunday morning with bags below each rabbit. Kids and their parents can then sign up for any of the rabbits they wish to win. Rabbits are clearly labeled as a breed class rabbit or pet class rabbit. Each youth can only win 1 rabbit. Pedigrees with the rabbits are great and give the kids a way to contact the breeders and say “thank you”. It also gives the kids a way to contact you to purchase more rabbits. We provide each rabbit with a starter bag of food and care sheet. We have done this for 5 years now and have had great results in keeping the project strong. We will house and feed the rabbits till the fair. We make no money off this it’s only to increase the interest in the rabbit project at our Fair. Please e-mail me at: HHHHRabbit@aol or Christi at: gcring01@aol to let us know you would like to donate a rabbit to the giveaway. Thanks!!
