Ivanovic to be rewarded for excellent season with new four-year contract. #CFC Chelsea are to open talks today over a new four-year contract for Branislav Ivanovic. The combative defender, who turned 30 last month, has two years left to run on his current deal but Chelsea are willing to offer improved terms on his £120,000 a week salary. Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid have both shown interest in Ivanovic but he is keen to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge where he has become a trusted figure for manager Jose Mourinho. The Serbia international is viewed as one of the senior figures in the dressing room and is key to helping bring on the new influx of younger players that Mourinho intends to blood and develop over coming seasons. Chelsea are willing to offer John Terry and Frank Lampard new one year deals and will discuss putting Ivanovic in the same wage bracket. Speaking last week, prior to playing for Serbia against Republic of Ireland, Ivanovic underlined how he is settled with life in London. He said: I can say this is the happiest I have been at Chelsea because, at the moment, the team is doing well and things are going right for us. Ivanovic, who counts world number two tennis star Novak Djokovic among his friends, added: We have improved as a team since the beginning of the season, it looks like we are a very strong team but we have the potential to make and build an amazing team.
