Ive abandoned my essays; as I have abandoned the infertile, - TopicsExpress

Ive abandoned my essays; as I have abandoned the infertile, incapable, incompetent and inconceivable small town Ohio. Greenfield specializes in rumors. Some people have nothing better to do than to gossip. Yeah, it’s a pathetic life, but, for some, they get some sick satisfaction by spreading B.S. about other people instead of helping them or themselves. Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots. And, as with anything rumor related, the dispersion that I left in the middle of the night has grown into a multi-headed beast and spread its ugly filth to the otherwise rational world. I continue to be pelted by people wanting us to clarify our positions against outrageous and impracticable claims continually being made by persons calling themselves knowledgeable or trustworthy and I must also wonder about those people who follow such rumors. Starting a believable rumor is much easier than the web of idiocy spawned by such rumors would imply. Rumors succeed because even the most brilliant people are surprisingly unskeptical, particularly if the rumor bases itself on a premise that one should be skeptical of something else. Its simple. By including facts (like I left town; I spent a lot of money in Greenfield; Im negotiating with the IRS) that are so easy to determine that no one in their right mind would lie about them, then juxtaposing them with the latent skepticism that many residents mindlessly direct toward outsiders, and then coupling them with a bogus explanation whose workings are sufficiently ambiguous, you have just started a rumor that requires no more effort from you whatsoever. Validating the status of the proposed comment is rather straightforward [contact the individual slandered], unless a person is void of all common sense. Such stories would be humorous if the tragedies of my time in Greenfield had not happened. I find all such rumor-mongering to be despicable, and the nature of such messages is mindlessness at its worst, but Greenfield, or is it the Heartland, seems to be the bastion of the uneducated, lazy [to find the truth] and the blind believers in those who satisfy their own pitiful egos. Its Rush Limbaughs strength; why certain government officials representations and religious blasphemers can hold sway with people they are actually hurting; they inoculate these mentally feeble and spread a strain of doubt-virus that erodes the health of organizations, countries and contributing to the idiocy of our society. I firmly embrace the right to free speech. However, that right also embraces the right to not listen to or read the trash. I would rather not hear any more of this nonsense.
