Ive always had a problem getting organized as many people define - TopicsExpress

Ive always had a problem getting organized as many people define the word. In fact, it was one of the trumped of items that were used to justify laying me off from my job twenty years ago. (The actual reason was that my new boss wanted to hire one of his friends into my position -- a long story but seriously off-topic here.). ANYWAY, Im one of those people that the article describes as a piler as opposed to a filer. Ive occasionally used software that helps me find information I need when I have too much to remember at any one time. My mentor understood and encouraged this (although her system used notebooks rather than computers). The only problem is that entering the info takes a little extra time while one is doing it and this may be distracting to others (unless one can remember the details long enough to record them after the fact -- which I can no longer do). OTOH, having done so makes it possible to prove or at least better support my opinion when it becomes important to do so -- and to remember what I promised to do after a meeting ends. Apparently my Area 47 (as described in the article) was damaged or no longer exists since my operation 20 years ago so I need to record increasing amounts of detail to remember things. The article below has been useful to me in explaining some of my neurological problems. Now I think I need to read the book -- if I can remember to get it.
