Ive been asked by quite a few people how I feel about the challenge. Ive really had to sort through many emotions this past week. Im happy people are asking me stories about my dad. Im excited for the money being raised. I love some people are educating themselves on ALS. Im hopeful that maybe my donation is the money that finds a cure. Im praying someone is so moved by this movement they dedicate their life to it and they are the person that finds the cure. I dont like the awkwardness between some people because they dont know what to say (but thats not new) Im sad some people just dont get it. Im pissed with the mentality it doesnt affect me so who cares. Im furious at the ignorance that comes out of peoples mouths. I did not know what ALS was before my dad and I was forced to educate myself. I get it. I get until something personally touches you it doesnt mean as much but dont discredit what this movement has done. Im livid at the person I ran into today, who I had watched his drunken ice bucket challenge and when I called him out tell me something about ALS he couldnt. If I see your video and you didnt once mention the cause you should probably turn around and walk the other way. Of course this movement is going to be more personal for myself. We all have a passion, a reason, a thing we love, a thing we fight for and if someone wants to start another movement for another cause Ill gladly hop on board. One man decided he wanted to make a difference and have a reason behind his suffering. I cant imagine the joy he must feel (because yes ALS patients minds are fine) He can FEEL even if he cant move. Thank you to my amazing friends and family that took the challenge in honor of my daddy. Some of you never even had the chance to meet him. Ive always known Im blessed but I have really come to the realization I have some of the best people in my life. Thank you to the friend who asked me if she can use my dad for her neurology project this year because she has always wanted to ask but now feels comfortable enough to do so. So if you want to know how I feel there ya go, Im a mess but I can type this and talk so I cant complain.
