Ive been dubbed Sir Pete of the Three Answers by my CB pal, Burt - three things you might not know about me. Hmmm - everyone pretty much already knows that I stole Pete Roses hat when I was 10 and beat him into Baseballs Hall of Fame with a story about it, 41years later- most folks know I danced with Tina Turner when I was 17 (and she was still with Ike) at the Flying Carpet Motel by Pittsburgh airport, where we both crashed the same party (ya couldnt make that one up!) Cant use those nuggets. So, here goes: 1.) I once spent a Saturday evening on South Street in Philadelphia going up to complete strangers, singing and dancing to the song Mr. Bojangles. 2.) Ive worked for the government under eight different presidents since 1973 - Nixon, Ford and Carter (Navy); Reagon, Bush, Clinton, Bush (W), and Obama (USDA). 3.) I spoke at a White House event, on the same program with two Cabinet Secretaries (Agriculture and HHS), three U.S. Representatives, and four Senators. I had to go on after all of them - and, (Im told), knocked it out of the park. I have no idea - I was too nervous to notice how I did. Speaking of the park, 2 weeks later, I played softball in the same brand new suit pants I wore at the event - in the rain and the mud. Yes, they did get muddy - but they cleaned up o.k.!
