Ive been experiencing the new LLBean Customer DIS-SERVICE Department. This is a surprise to me, after many good experiences with their customer SERVICE. I do wonder how this will hold up under the transparency afforded by social media, so ask you to please share this short tale: I returned my favorite garment to Beans -- a fleece jacket on which the zipper had broken. Without my permission they threw it out (except for the zipper it was in perfect condition), and sent me a new model of this garment, with thinner fleece that was not as warm, a cruder cut, LL Bean embroidered on the front (the original did not have this, and overall lower quality. Upon my complaint theyve offered me the cost of this new lesser product (an insult!), and three other jackets that dont even come in gray. They seem unable to explain why I wasnt consulted, why my jacket was thrown away, why they cant produce a proper replacement, or why they didnt just replace the zipper on a perfectly good jacket. All I want is the wonderful jacket that they made. Please share this story, and if you have tales of LLBean DIS-SERVICE please add them!
