Ive been given an amazing opportunity....to open The potteryali Store here in Newcastle, Australia! The non-profit Renew Newcastle began in 2008 to revitalize the downtown. They have since taken 67 vacant properties and, for a nominal fee, rented them to artists, who set up shop until a permanent tenant takes over the lease. It has literally transformed the downtown into an adorable area with cafes, restaurants and boutiques! Its right near the waterfront too! I noticed they were accepting applications, which is rare. So, I took a really deep breath and applied (this process is_highly_ competitive). And ta-da! I was just awarded a space in one of their best locations -- The Emporium -- a former dept. store that now houses about 10 artists and their shops. renewnewcastle.org/projects/project/the-emporium/ I start in a week! Crazy! Weve been here a little over 2 months! Here are a few preliminary pics of the street....more to come when I set up my space! Hugs all! Come visit!
