Ive been given9. Here goes: 1 I was born Hutchinson, Ks., the 2nd child, in the 2nd month of the year, on the 22nd day of that month (2/22/43), which was in the 2nd year of WW II. 2 I grew up on a small farm near Hutchinson. Among my many fond memories of a wonderful childhood, was that my daddy saw that I always had swings: rope swings, bag swings that hung from a big tree limb, and one that Daddy and my older brother hung from the highest rafters in the barn. Talk about FUN. Friends and cousins still talk about that some 60 years later. Guess we can say: memories to last a lifetime. 3 After HS graduation, I started to Hutch JuCo, where, within a week, my life mate and I met. We married 1 1/2 years later. I graduated from KWU in Salina, started teaching. 4John continued farming with his dad and Granddad. The farm has grown to accommodate Tom and Sandy. 5 Blessings of 2 boys made a busy farm life. Both sons passionately love the country life. 6 A late life decision to earn my Masters degree consumed 2 years, but no regrets. 6 We travelled lots as John served on the NCGA board. 7Many milestone events happened this year: both John and I turned 70; Tim married the girl of his dreams; my Mom went to her eternal home, followed a few months later by my step-mother-in-law; Johns dad turned 90; Tom and his bride celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary, as did John and I our 50th. 8 Blessings come in many forms that wed never believe if someone were to tell us. We accept what it is and cherish the experience. 9 The future? Who knows. Well take it, embrace it and thank The Lord above for giving us His love, each other and beautiful family and friends.
