Ive been having some health issues lately -- one for a while and a new one the doctors just discovered. One may be resolved with meds, but the other looks like a little surgery in my future. And, then life with a transplant patient is never easy, but Marvin seems to be holding his own lately. Hop-Sing is totally blind and very old, but hes not in pain, and he can still manage to go anywhere in the house he wants -- a little slower than usual, but he still goes. The three of us are not in the best shape and certainly wish for better times, but, overall, were plugging right along and relying on each other to take up any slack. .....Then, I look around and feel ashamed. So many friends and family are facing death, loss, sickness, despair, and sadness. That reminds me that my, Marvins, and Hop-Sings problems are not nearly as bad as they could be. Were pretty lucky after all. I ask for prayers for my friend Rhondas family, my brother-in-law Jim and his family, my sister-in-law Geraldine and her family, and a very sweet great-nephew. Theres definitely some hard times in the neighborhood....
