Ive been keeping this very quiet, except for my family and a couple of very close friends. Today will be my last flight as an American Airlines captain. Yes, I am retiring after 29 years of service to AA and 5 years as an Army officer and aviator. A total of 34 years of flying. I will be arriving at DFW on flight 1295 from Tucson at 5:40 this afternoon. Im working on having my retirement party this week, but havent decided where yet, but it will involve dancing and fun. Probably Midnight Rodeo on Thursday. I am a little sad to be leaving the profession and Ive been very blessed to work with so many wonderful professionals. I have loved all these years, but when its time to bid farewell, its time. That time is now for me. My new life will be in real estate and helping the charity I love so much.
