Ive been kinda quiet on this Adrian Peterson child abuse scandal!! I grew up in the south and my mom, dad, grandparents probably punished me with a belt or a switch when I acted out badly!! It would take some doing before they did but thats because I really was asking for it!! Did they leave whelp marks yes that is going to happen!! Do I consider them to have abused me... NO!! The Bible say spare the rod and spoil the child!! It is absolutely correct!! When I was in school Im sure I wasnt the only one else that had similar experiences!! But guess what... I LISTEN TO MY PARENTS AND RESPECTED MY ELDERS FOR IT!!!! Today you cant even breathe on a child without someone else telling you how to raise your kids!! Now you even dont have corporal punishment in schools(paddling) so now teachers dont even have control of kids especially when parents let their kids run wild!! Yes to the people who are going to say there are other forms of discipline, i.e., time out, etc, yes those do work, however, being spanked ususally happens when those forms of discipline have no effect!! And you know what else we didnt have when I was growing up.... School shootings and this over abundance of bullying as well!! And Im sure those same people who are outraged about what Adrian Peterson did are they same ones whose kids cuss them out and disrespect them on a daily basis!!
