Ive been letting the National Geographic episodes play in the background as I work. When The Passion of the Christ came up in the queue, I let it play. I had avoided this movie for years. As I watch it now, I remember why. Yes, I am a believer. Watching the hatred, evil, and violence in the mobs and torturers as He suffered, knowing He endured the pain so that all would be forgiven their sins, was horrifying. Sheer horror experienced by my God out of love for me. A gift. A selfless act to show grace and mercy to all people. While my life isnt perfect and I do have my very rough patches, I believe. God is good. There is a purpose. I have faith and in my heart I know, no matter what the scientists and scholars say or unbelievers protest, God IS real and I am grateful for His messages of faith, hope, love, mercy, grace, and peace. Please forgive me, Lord. You know my sins, but you also know my heart and in your eyes, Im beautiful and fearfully and wonderfully made. You love me and accept me as perfect in all my imperfections. I thank you for your presence in my life and for your Word to remind me of my responsibilities. I will praise you in this storm and will have the strength I need to press on granted through you. Im grateful for all youve blessed me with and put my trust in you. Thank you. In Jesus name, and with a grateful and humbled heart, I pray, Amen.
