Ive been meaning to post this for a while. As you are all aware, I have two fantastic companions, Dixie & Ziva. I feel truly blessed to have them. When I decided to rescue a dog, I received advice from two good friends, Trish Geer & Amy Spagnuolo Higgins. Both of whom have several dogs and are involved with rescues. Dixie came to me via a fantastic group of people, Sheryls Den. They were rescuing her, and others, from Kentucky. I saw Dixies picture, and knew I had to have her! When she arrived she was sick, so it took a little bit longer then normal, but I wanted her, no matter what!! Six months later, I decided to rescue another. Again, speaking with Amy & Trish, I searched the rescue sites and found Ziva. Ziva was 600 miles away in West Virginia, being cared for by another fantastic group of people, Summers County Humane Society,( Kathy Waskow Wenger). After communicating with them, Dixie and I went on a 1200 mile road trip to pick up her sister. Since I only saw pictures of both pups, and wanted them from the second I saw them, I truly feel a higher power picked them for me. I could not have asked for anything better, and thank God every day for bringing them into my life....Honestly, Im not sure who rescued who.....
