Ive been meaning to update on Zernie this week. Zernie is an apps 4-5 year old male long haired Chi mix, who came into the program with serious fear issues. His foster mom has been super patient and diligent in rehabbing this little guy. Before, his fear was so strong that he wouldnt accept any affection, didnt want to be touched, much less held and would snip if he felt cornered. I am happy to report that while his foster mom was out of town and Zernie had to go to a temp foster home he did AMAZING!!!! I was really worried that he might shut down, be super afraid, or go back to his old ways...but he let his temp foster mom hold him, love him, and play with him like he had been normal forever!!!! It sounds like Zernie is definitely ready for his forever home now!!!! We would still not recommend a house with small children as we worry it would be overwhelming, but if you love a little guy with lots of zip in his step who is ready to find forever love...Zernie may very well be your man!!!!
