Ive been noticing this group for quite some time now, and Ive come to a conclusion nobody here knows jack about the taxi industry. Honestly, how many people here are full time taxi drivers in Macau? Do you know how much it costs to rent a taxi daily / monthy? Fuel cost? Insurance? Maintenance? To start things off, I am a full time taxi driver in Macau. I drive everyday for 9 hours, with one day off each week. Hate me all you want, but I avoid driving local people and going into local areas. Why? To put it into simple words, if i was to drive everyone i saw, and went by the meter each trip, my monthly salary would be estimated at about MOP$3000-$4500. Now tell me, asides from retired folks with a government pension, where are you going to find people to drive taxis in Macau? In conclusion, instead of looking and complaining about the taxi problem, maybe we should be looking at the cause and solution to such problem. Feel free to leave any comments or questions you may have to us taxi drivers.
