Ive been tagged by the lovely author Kristen Painter to do the 7 line share. I think youre supposed to do it from Chapter 7, but Im not that far in my WIP. So Im going to do if from page 7, first 7 lines. And although this is supposed to be from my *current* WIP, I thought it might be fun to include something from pg 7 of RED BLOODED too ~ *evil cackle* ~ So here goes: RED BLOODED: Only organic matter could pass through a witch circle. I’d been told that if demons tried to cross the boundary their blood boiled in their veins, killing them instantly. I glanced down at my hemp fatigues. I wore the witches’ standard combat uniform. It was dark green and form-fitting, and it held a little stretch, courtesy of some natural rubber plant woven between the fibers for ease of motion. The outfit was also spelled to act like a shield against some of the lesser demon magic, but it didn’t seem to be repelling much of whatever Tally had tossed at me. Ray made a low strangled noise and began to stagger back and forth, bobbing and weaving like a drunk, his arms cartwheeling in front of him. He came close to the edge of the circle a few times but never crossed the line. Then, without warning, his chest bowed toward the ceiling and he bellowed, and a second later he... ~*evil author is evil* (But I gave you twice as many lines!) ALL IN: Shame crept across her face as she fisted her hands tightly together. Raoul had known when he’d dropped the car and supplies off weeks ago that she was in a bad way. He knew her telling signs all too well. He’d tried to take her aside, to find a way to help her, but she’d shaken him off. He’d given her so much already, but even if he could--he wouldn’t be able to help this time. She was too far gone. Ginger had waited too long. A simple hug or a caress wasn’t going to cut it. She needed a real meal. And one wasn’t going to do either, she needed more... Hope you enjoyed the little torment!
