Ive been talking with a woman whos cheating on her husband. Every time I have such a conversation, Im struck by the fact that these people dont want to be with their spouses, yet they continue to present a dishonest face to the world — while getting their needs met elsewhere — instead of divorcing. Those of us who grew up in churches were mostly taught that divorce is forbidden. So people live miserable and dishonest lives in the name of doing the right thing. They were also taught that lying and cheating are wrong, yet they cheat and lie (to others and themselves). Why? Because they have an insatiable need for things they cant get from their spouses. I fear we have warped priorities.
