Ive been thinking a lot about The Village... the one we grew up with/in as well as so many of you. On Sunday, I was reminded on why that village is so important. We used to check on each other, make PHONE calls daily, care about the well being of the family next door, and the problem of others was our problem too! My Daddy did not show up for church on time Sunday as he has for MANY years. Immediately my phone began to ring with concern. Before I could start my personal investigation, his church members and family were in their cars driving around and looking as well. The anxiety and stress levels were on 10 and thanks be to God he was just fine. Im so very grateful for the people who look out for him when my eyes cant be on him at all times. (He is a hand full..LBVS) This situation could have been worse in so many ways because the Its not my problem attitude so often ends in disaster. Check on your neighbors, especially the elderly and disabled. Be observant if you havent seen them in a while. Care enough to care.......Have you checked on YOUR village today?
