Ive been thinking about what makes the Emma Watson speech so powerful and then remembered one of my favorite Ted talks. Simon Sinek touching on the Martin Luther King speech. Somewhat paraphrasing here .... Dr. King wasn’t the first man to suffer during pre civil and he wasnt the first to attempt change. But novel to him, was that he didnt tell people WHAT needed to change, and HOW to do it. Rather he told them what and WHY he believed. People who believed what he believed took his cause and MADE IT THEIR OWN. People showed up for themselves - not for Dr. King. It’s what they believed all along.
