Ive been thru a lot of ups and downs lately, mostly downs. Im never sure if Im getting a handle on this thing or not. Living life one day at a time, or hour by hour if needed, makes it bearable. As Lyme takes us on this seemingly never-ending nightmare roller coaster it often brings us together with other people on the same nightmarish path. Frank A Clark, author of the Country Parson wrote; We find comfort among those who agree with us - growth among those who dont. No truer a word were ever spoken. Thanks for whatever you lent to the meeting tonite. My thoughts go out to Cassandra who hopefully found comfort tonite and will continue to do so at other meetings. It also brings to mind how those who dont understand can bring us down. Growing under adversity seems almost impossible but our response to the difficulties and challenges of life determine the measure of our growth. How many knew we were capable of enduring such? How many knew we could be our own doctors and nurses when there were none to be found? Often our own comforters when there were none to listen? How much more we can grow by educating those that either do not know or refuse to acknowledge? Please help me build an awareness campaign that does this at a grassroots level. We may not be able to readily change the minds, hearts and attitudes of the those in positions of power but we can bring the realities of Lyme to those most affected, the general populace. Please help me further it in my own industry: the landscaping profession. So many unsuspecting laborers at ground zero. So many opportunities for growth. So much more comfort to be found among those who agree with us. Paul Koehler
