Ive been trying to figure out why this move has been harder, more emotional than the others. Weve moved all over and met fabulous people; sometimes stay in touch, sometimes not, sometimes meeting again years later like long lost friends. When we moved to Virginia, it was the end of the road. I let my guard down, opened my life up and shared my joys and sorrows. Virginia gave me some of the most fantastic memories of happiness and it also gave me times of great sorrow. Certain people made Virginia an experience and I will take the memories with me as I leave here tomorrow. LaTonya, I will forever treasure our morning talks. You are wise beyond your years and you make me want to be nicer. It doesnt always work, but I try. My USO buddies (Lona, Tammy, Laurie, Jan), you guys made getting out of bed on Sunday mornings at 0400 almost fun. Our work was noble but the reward we got from helping service men and women can not be measured with money, only smiles. Denise, it took three visits after Kenneths death for you to say anything. The respect when you noticed my tears, handed me a tissue and kept cutting my hair without missing a beat was greatly appreciated; I just needed something to feel somewhat normal in the chaos that my life had become. Kerianne and Theresa, somehow we formed some sort of unholy alliance built on sarcasm and fueled by contempt. I respect you both tremendously for the work you do everyday and your ability to maintain your sense of humor. And besides that, you both suck. Which brings me to Rebecca. Did you ever think we would end up such dear friends?!? Every time I needed you, you were right there even though it cost you. I will never be able to thank you for taking care of Tyler. You arent touchy feely, not emotional, sort of shy and definitely reserved. There isnt much to say other than I love you. And yes, I do cry about leaving. This time its different.
