Ive been trying to find out where my Council Tax goes. As far as I can see I am paying a lot for Education but a lot of kids are being turned out thick and Ignorant. I am paying for Policing but they are closing all the stations and instead of attending crimes and will only give you a crime number for insurance purpose. I am paying for Fire Service, but stations are being closed, fire tenders being cut back, so that If I am in a house fire, chances are I will burn to death before they can get to me. I also pay for Highways but nothing seems to be done as there are potholes every where you look, and drains only get cleaned out if you complain, as there are I am lead to believe, only two machines for the whole of the Dudley Borough, and one is virtually full time cleaning cess pits, which brings up another issue I cant find anything about, and that is Councillors expenses. We know these wont be cut back, and some of them are about as useful as a chocolate fireguard. It was in the free paper this week, that it is also going to cost more for burials (they say the 7% plus is in line with inflation) but they must have been looking at the Lead Councillor blowing a balloon up, as my pension was supposedly risen with inflation and that was around 2%.
