Ive been trying to schedule another medical procedure for the past 4 weeks. If the medical procedure is done in calendar year 2014, my insurance deductible has been met, no more out of pocket costs to me. For 4 weeks the doctor is trying to coordinate with the hospital which is trying to coordinate with my wonderful insurance company to determine benefits. The same insurance company is telling me that they are trying to coordinate with the same hospital for clarification so they can make payment for my previous stays. I finally get a call from the hospitals scheduler late yesterday requesting I call immediately. By the time I called back they are closed. I think to myself, hmmm maybe something has finally gone my way and the hospital and the insurance company have finally got their stuff together and Im going to be scheduled for my procedure by the end of the year (yes Im trying to be optimistic). I decide not to eat and drink and go through the motions as if Im going under anesthesia today just in case. I call the scheduler at 7:30am when they open. Im told by receptionist that the scheduler has stepped away and to leave a message. Instead of being transferred, Im hung up on, by the third call the receptionist is yelling at me and telling me not to call, they will call me. Im obviously not going to the hospital today and to add insult to injury, 2,5 hours later I still havent heard from the scheduler but the hospitals billing department has called twice looking for payment! Happy 2014!
