Ive been turfed from work in life. As Mr. Fantino likely deserves - TopicsExpress

Ive been turfed from work in life. As Mr. Fantino likely deserves this kick to the curb, I too deserved to be turfed at the time. We can choose to learn from being kicked to the curb and grow to be better for it. Perhaps this gentleman will choose to do, just that-question his personal motivation in life, make personal adjustments and grow through the experience.. That said, in Canadian Politics, Corporate, Public Service and Non-Profit leadership, we are NEVER alone in failure of any program, project, or singular-objective. Nor are we for that matter completely alone in achieving our personal, individual goals. Some in our circle will be rooting for our success. Others, for our demise. Other humans, like it or not, are included in every Act of every Play we create in the game of life. There exist more characters in this drama than Mr. Fantino, Minister of Veterans Affairs. We love scapegoats in our society. In every society-in politics likely more-so than in any other societal institution we seek a fall-guy, it seems, when things go wrong. As a community of power-brokering humans, politicians avoid the big-questions in such cases by hanging someone out to dry. The media, reporting our politics to us, never fails to find a scapegoat to lynch on politics behalf. Did Mr. Fantino personally create policy that grants denial of appropriate Veteran.s Services? Did he make any of his decisions in Ottawa alone? Did, Mr. Fantino alone make decisions that devalue our Veterans? Devalued as they are today, to the point of Veterans needing to fight-back against lack of appropriately constructed benefits in return for their service to our country? Is this man the only person responsible for the failures of Canadas Veterans Affairs? Mr. Fantino, like many before him, is today the one hanging on the symbolic cross. Hes hanging for failed Conservative Government and Public-Service action that limits the appropriate care available through Veterans services. Our Veterans today, are undervalued in Canadian society. The issues rising in Veterans care, speaks volumes in terms of our Veterans value to Canadians.. Who is responsible for devaluing our Veterans? The People of Canada. We are ultimately responsible in a democracy for failed services to persons like our Veterans.. Politics, speaks to us as though we are consumers. WE allow an agenda like this to build, through apathetic distancing from the democratic process. From our side of the fence on this issue. Veterans simply are not valued enough by the Canadian Consumer in the Political Market-Place. Politics, acts accordingly. Decisions, like the choices made in politics to dismantle Veterans Affairs, are easy in a political structure when the people of a democracy are no longer engaged in the process. In a democracy, it is the people who dictate an agenda to our Politicians and Public Servants. An entirely different outcome appears when we demand towards politics that the humans serving us in the military are of value to The People. Democracy in Canada, is a game today. To quote, Elizabeth May: We have (in Canada) a democracy in theory only. . .We have in Ottawa, an elected dictatorship. Our soldiers are now pawns in this game of Elected, Dictatorial-Rule. WE continue to allow such things to keep going on around us as Canadians, often acting as if We The People have no responsibility to assume in this lack of care for our Veterans. Dont misunderstand me, please. He needed to go. The Conservative Agenda in Canada, all of it, needs to go away for us to move forward as a Nation. The politics of the Conservatives in power, has nothing to share with us in Canadian democracy today. Make a decision, please, this coming election. For the love of all that is: Please vote and choose wisely. Although we saw a rise in voter turn-out in the last federal election. Its now increasingly important in our democracy that we exercise our freedom. As a people, we can choose to practice our right to democratic freedom, or we can continue to accept apathy towards politics. True power is in our hands in a capitalist, consumer, market-driven society. When we start buying only the product meant to serve the needs of persons such as our Veterans. The political-product adjusts, according to the expressed wishes of the consumers in the market-place. Unfortunately, in our democracy today, these market-principles of economics apply to the Political Corporation we call Canada. We buy our politicians with our vote today. Buyer-Beware. Some might say that its only when we experience a sense of discomfort, that we accomplish any kind of change. ~ Dr. Robert Binder. Its time in Canada for some change. Exercise your democratic freedom this time around. Get out and make a personal choice for our country. Make it hurt. Its time for some collective pain. Its time we all experienced a little discomfort, and move ourselves away from elected-dictators in Canadas future..
