Ive been unemployed for a little over a month and while I do have some prospects I cant help, but think that working a full-time job at a company isnt as secure as it once was. In fact self-employment seems like a better venture because if you dont succeed you have no one to blame but yourself, and I guess thats where things get really interesting and sort of scary. Just recently a lot of good friends lost their jobs at companies they felt were secure. Now they have to go on the job hunt, which can take months. The solution: Be a jack of all trades, be forever learning, and have more than one stream of revenue. During this month of unemployment Ive been able to make it through by doing freelance gigs and even doing some for free that have allowed me to be noticed by companies that have now offered me a position and Ive even started taking classes to improve my skills. Good luck to everyone on their grind and keep hustling.
