Ive been very silent on the issues of police brutality in 2014. - TopicsExpress

Ive been very silent on the issues of police brutality in 2014. This song has definitely invoked emotion coupled with #antoniomartin getting murdered this week. Ill say enough is enough. People fear what they dont know. Visual aids of the TV shows like the First 48, or rap music like Lil Boosie creates a perception that we are savage killers. In college after listening to Commons song Assata, I read her biography. It was touching and inspiring. She escaped J Edgar Hoovers Cointelpro program and was granted political asylum in Cuba. Cointelpro main mission was to CRUSH the Black power uprising by any means necessary. In America we are still feeling the aftermath of the government sanctioned program. Nashvillle Police Chief Steve Anderson has exhibited courage in Nashville by allowing demonstrators to keep the movement alive. I was in disbelief when I saw police officers in New York wearing I can Breathe shirts. Did i miss something??? I also had to laugh at the ignorance of a FB friend last Saturday. She was pissed that the demonstrators were at the Opry Mills mall. Then I realized that some people have no compassion for the less fortunate. Ill end my Christmas morning rant with saying in 2015 we have to do better by investing in our youth. I think this song sets the tone. #blacklivesmatter
