Ive been wanting to write this list for a few days thanks to Praveen Donthi and Sangeeta Khanna. The list is never-ending but Ive tried to be as true to myself and as truthful as well. So its taken me a while to sort them in my head, but here goes nothing: in no particular order, top ten books that made the most impact on me: 1. Comfort me with apples - Ruth Reichl 2. Falling off the map - Pico Iyer 3. The Thirteenth Tale - Diane Setterfield 4. Starring Sally J. Freedman as Herself - Judy Blume 5. In the court of the fish-eyed Goddess - William Dalrymple 6. A Thousand Splendid Suns - Khaled Hosseini 7. The Diving Bell and the butterfly - Jean Dominique-Bauby 8. Kitchen Literacy - Ann Vileisis 9. The Bluest Eye - Toni Morrison 10. The Magic Faraway Tree & The Enchanted Woods - Enid Blyton - for without these would have been no Pop biscuits or treacle puddings.
