Ive been watching Adrian Ebens sermons on DVR. What a testimony he has! Ive also been blessed learning about the Source>>>Channel relationship. It gives us a more biblical perspective on many things. I thought of something else that has the Source>>>Channel relationship. Love is the Source of joy and peace. These are channels by which love can be expressed. But far too often joy is seen a source of its own, as we see in the Pentecostal movement, and it ends up being frivolity. This is also where we find all types of worldly mirth. But there is not peace. Peace is also seen to be a source of its own by Catholicism and new age or eastern mystics. But this is not peace at all. It is a self-focused imaginary reality that results in selfishness and darkness. But if love is sought--the agape love which included the keeping of all the Torah--then joy and peace will spring forth and will also refresh those around us. This is what heaven will be like. :) But I have an objection that Id like to make. It is clear that Adrian believes that the existence of the Son/Word came from the Father. And he was teaching that if you dont believe this salvational truth, you will not be able to appreciate the Source>>>Channel relationship in spiritual truths. He also suggests that there would arise a conflict, or confusion, if both the Father and the Son were Sources of life. Yet I have never believed in the Father producing the Son, and I can see the Source>>>Channel relationship just fine! So I feel that it is unreasonable to assume that we must believe that the Son originates from the Father lest we will not believe the divine principle of the Source>>>Channel relationship. The Father is the Head of Whom all things exist. His character, or glory, is the Law of the universe. And the Son is the visible Channel (I like to say Fountain) by Whom all blessings flow. Our prophet says: What speech is to thought, so is the MessiYᵃH to the invisible Father. He is the manifestation of the Father, and is called the Word of Elohim (Manuscript 77, 1899). So I dont see any basis for hinging the Source>>>Channel relationship upon the Son originating from the Father; the Bible nor the Spirit of Prophecy make this claim. Nor do I see any basis for declaring that two original life Sources would be in conflict with each other and create confusion. Satan would have us think that, and I believe that He came up with the lie of numeric monotheism. The Father and the Word are one because of their character and communion that they share; and it is this same oneness that the MessiYᵃH longs for us to have with them. The good news is that all conflict and confusion will end; and even though we are all individuals, peace will be preserved through the life and Sacrifice of the Lamb. Denying the divinity of the Word destroys this good news. And consubstantial trinitarians claim to restore this divinity and yet they still have the Son eternally originating from the Father. Our prophet says that He is life, original, unborrowed, underived ... The divinity of the MessiYᵃH is the believers assurance of eternal life (Desire of Ages, p. 530). The only origin that anyone would argue for the Son would be the Father, so it is clear what she is referring to here. He inherited the governorship from the Father because He shared it with the Father for all eternity. It is not an inheritance, or sonship, that we think of in human biological relationship. It is an inheritance that the Father bestows upon His Son due to His eternal existence. Therefore, He declares that all creation can worship His Son as Elohim (see Psalm 45:6). He is witness to His Sons divinity. I love the Source>>>Channel relationship, but I cannot keep silent when I see error being preached, especially when it is referred to as salvational. None of us truly understand the makeup of Elohim other than what is revealed in inspired writings; and the Son having an origin (except for His humanity coming from Mary) cannot be proven by any of these writings.
