Ive been working for the HVAC insulators Union for a month now. - TopicsExpress

Ive been working for the HVAC insulators Union for a month now. They are good people, but I would have to wait a year before I get a raise and the pay sucks as an Apprentice. They want me to join, but Ive been scouting other Unions on the work site trying to establish connections. The Forman for Iron Workers has shown great interest in me offering to sign me up immediately with increased pay (significantly higher than the Insulators are offering), though from what Ive observed the work is extremely hazardous. I had no idea there are Unions for just about every aspect of construction. Im going in for an interview with a residential HVAC company on Monday that has two positions I would be suited for. I told them I would apply for both and see which one fit me best. I will also be applying for the Baltimore Steamfitters Union on Monday. I have been reluctant to apply for certain Unions based on the fact that my Math skills are lacking. The Electricians have the most difficult test that I have come across with complex algebra, calculus, and trig. The Insulators have the most basic, and the Steamfitters have some algebra in their test.
