Ive called the NASA/Roscosmos kerfuffle curious. Either Russia was about to pull the rug out from under NASA with reference to transporting crew and demand an unrealistic fee for transporting astronauts to the ISS, and the US did this as an end run around this or there is more behind this whole thing. The statement itself announcing this move more is blasting Congress than explaining the Russian situation. At the Asteroid conference Bolden in his opening remarks explained why NASA was not at an event saying something like...Oh yes Congress shut down the government....in a half sarcastic sort of way. At a Congressional hearing last week Administrator Bolden was telling Congress that he (NASA) needed Commercial Crew more than he needed SLS/Orion and more funding should go to Commercial Crew. Then this announcement this week. Just trying to connect the dots. As Lewis Caroll might say Curiouser and curiouser
