Ive coined a new term. Noisy Writing. Writers with nothing to say cloaking their ineptitude with a glut of words. I believe its a real thing, and its dubious appeal may explain why many talented writers who appreciate a slow build are ignored. Fast, quippy, profanity-laden, look-at-how-much-gore-I-can-spill-in-the-first-paragraph trash. The art of pacing seems forever lost. I have a few sour-grapes comments on this subject.
