Ive created a graphic to visually illustrate a learning technique which Ive found helpful. Whats missing from this graphic is the audio component; that is, instead of simply seeing the Lakota word waŋblí as text, the word should be spoken aloud in order to mentally associate its sound with the visual image of the eagle. In other words, I find that its easier for me to remember a Lakota word if I connect its sound to the mental concept which it represents rather than simply matching Lakota text with English text. Maybe youll find this technique useful, too :)
