Ive decided screw it.... Im strongly considering investing in a wig as much as I hate the idea of that for my teaching gig- Though I mean seriously- does hair color really determine if your a good teacher? It certainly doesnt. Its a bitter shame that so many in my own major or people in general can be really hurtful and judgmental gossiping drama queens based on what they see on an outward appearance many among other ridiculous things. In all sincerity, Ive try to bite my tongue and sometimes its just really hard. Thats no example to set for kids as far as far as I can tell. Its no way to motivate kids to accomplish all they are more than capable of doing in life. The goal is to teach kids how to think for themselves and become life long learners. Life is full of so many lessons to learn in life- its too short to worry about stupid shit like that. Nothing upsets me more than to see kids feel unwelcome and unmotivated in a safe school environment full of everything they could ever need to get a good education. I still feel that way at times- life just aint fair at times! Tell yall what, but hey, at least I have God and family and a small group of TRUSTED friends on my side of the spectrum.
