Ive enjoyed reading comments about Hunts Bigger Burger. My grandparents,Ernest and Ida Hunt,owned and operated the Hunts Bigger Burgers on Military Parkway and Scyene Road as well as The Apache on St. Augustine. They purchased the land at 7023 Military Parkway in 1954 and built the Dairy Mart.They purchased the existing drive-in on Scyene Rd ( across from the miniature golf course) a few years later and changed the names of both establishments to Hunts Bigger Burger..The Apache was constructed in the 64-65 time frame. The car washes adjacent to the drive ins were also part of the family business. Our entire family worked in these businesses (including my sister, mom and uncle and a whole host of cousins). After my grandmothers death in 1967, my grandfather sold the businesses to my mother and uncle. Later, my mom sold out to my uncle and he continued to operate a subset of the original businesses until his death.
