Ive enjoyed the quickie clips of this guy and his lion friends on the GoPro advertisements. I was thrilled when I came across this extended video. I become so hopeful when I see humans having amazing interactions with wildlife. How incredible would life on this planet be if all beings could interact like this. Not only would humans have to change their attitudes but, more immediately, stop destroying the environment and stop the habitat encroachment of everything that isnt human. How do we stop the human population explosion thats crowding out every other living creature on this planet? How cool is it that this guy can interact with lions like he does? My daughter pursued a 5 year program in 1) zoology and 2) zoo management and technology which included 2 years as a zookeeper. First thing she learned was dont even try to do what this guy is doing. And, more frequently than one would hope, the human meets the wrong animal and winds up dead. But, how often do we meet the wrong human? Nonetheless, what a ride it must have been. In high school, while selling refreshments at the Ringling Brothers circus, I spent every moment I could, backstage with the animals. I had such respect for the lions. I feel almost always comfortable with 4 legged critters, but, hyenas were the exceptions. This guy puts a whole new spin on hyenas. I guess, like with people, you cant have preconceived prejudices. Not the cuddliest of creatures but they are our partners in this journey through this amazing universe. Lets try to do all we can to preserve all creatures great and small.
