Ive forgot what it was like to learn a new language. When I was 7 and could only speak Tagalog and a few words of English, it was like I absorbed English. Dont get me wrong, I still remember asking my teachers Can I go to the CR? (CR = comfort room = washroom) and Can I go into the garbage? (You read that right!), but I feel like I didnt put much effort into learning English. Now Im 21, and in a completely new country where the first language isnt English or Tagalog, starting to learn a new language isnt exactly a breeze. Upside, whenever I try to speak German, it makes people laugh... then they correct me. Its nice to know that I can put a smile on faces during this learning process :)
