Ive found Christmas Spirit over and over! Robert and I took Star and Seth to see the lights on Minnow Bucket Road tonight. We had a great time; it was a beautiful sight! Christmas Day was a wonderful day even though it held moments of tears and sadness as I remembered my dear sweet brother Charles (Cy) who went to be with Jesus last year on Christmas morning. His siblings held on to our Christmas traditions of being with each other and sharing meals and gifts. On his bed, Jimmy had placed a quilt he had someone make from Cys favorite t-shirts and jerseys. It made the room peaceful and full of memories. I placed a white paper lantern in his memory in a tree in his yard and a smaller one in memory of his long-time canine companion, Mr. Charlie who died on Fathers Day. I do believe Cy was smiling upon us throughout the day. Later in the day, our children and grandchildren were with us in our home as we discovered what Santa had brought and opened gift after gift after gift. I sent the grandchildren on a scavenger hunt to find the last gift - a trampoline! (What a jumping good time they have had!) Even later in the day, Daniels bride gave him a new truck! I think she really surprised him! It was so hard to keep that secret and we had to be so sneaky because Daniel is the ever-observant fellow. I hope the Christmas Spirit stays around where we can all find it easily and it gives us comfort whenever we need it!
