Ive found that both racist whites and liberal whites get offended when I point out that most black people are not the basket case that racial stereotypes would indicate. Racist whites object for obvious reasons. This kind of data conflicts with their prejudices. Liberal whites need for blacks to be downtrodden in order to justify their own perception of themselves as white knights (pun intended) coming to the rescue.
