Ive grown up in the church with an incredible support and family around me. Never sheltered but loved into a place where I have been able to carve my own path and understanding of God in my life. Ive stood in front of thousands of people over my career and talk of Gods love. All the while I had it pretty clear in my head that I knew what I was talking about. Not true. Until Becky got sick, I had a minimal understanding of Gods supreme concern and love for me. I had no where to run or hide. I could only rely on my belief that God was concerned and ready to display his love for us to see. At those moments when I thought I could lose my wife, I found that God lavished His love on me like Ive never experienced before. Im in tears as I type this because it is still so real and moving. Ive only been given a peek, a glimpse, a small percent of a small precent of how much He really loves me, but that has been more than enough. Ill live the rest of my days with that simple glimpse racing through my brain. TRACK #5 I KNOW THAT YOU LOVE ME I’m just wasting away trying to keep my mind from slipping away. Trying to hold on to everything I own but it doesn’t seem to want to stay. No amount of talking or walking seems to get me to a place where I can feel like I’m safe. But I’m trying ‘til the day that I’m dying to secure that I’m not a waste. I see a lot of faces and recognize the places that remind of the man I once was, Lost without a trace, I’m a man without a face like a man without a will or a cause. Faith lies in trusting invisible hands as they reach out restoring my mind. Trying to grasp the concept That shows me this love. I know that you love me Just the way I am. I know that you love me And I know that I’ve been broken, I know that I’ve been blessed by your love. Redemption runs deeper than blood through my veins or the family that I left behind, I’m standing in the middle, I’m feeling second fiddle to the choices that have kept me blind. I’m feeling all the choices and hearing all the voices of the people that consume my mind. But I’m trying ‘til the day that I’m dying to ensure that I don’t waste time. And I’m standing here grateful because of your love and the freedom that you freely give. It’s compounded by your passion, surrounded by compassion that loves me in the place that I live. I was lost, now I’m found and I dance to the sound of the angels that surround my head, I was a dead man walking, living for nothing until you came and took me in.
