Ive had almost two days to process, and all I can say is I cannot convey how blessed/lucky/fortunate I am today and to say THANK YOU. I havent shared beyond family and closest friends because as anyone that knows me is aware, I try to keep significant information in person or over the phone. However, after many calls, texts, honing pigeons, (not the last one, but you get the idea) I just want to publicly say so as well. Dimitri and I were in a pretty bad car wreck Thursday night off pioneer/fielder in the Arlington area and by divine intervention/luck/karma we got out with only minor bumps and scrapes. A woman drove through the middle of the street and did not stop. To avoid having her hit me (she was between 5-10 feet from impacting my side) I swerved, jumped the curb, and we flipped, I am told by the damage twice. I pulled myself out of the belt and the Jeep. By the time I got out about 5 people were there, two men getting Dimitri out of the seat. While I was a skeptic before, Im convinced the fact that he was still facing the rear let him avoid any major scrapes, as the glass pretty much fell back toward him. More luck: a doctor and his wife stopped and the doctor was able to check him out before the responders got there. Needless to say at this point, jeep is destroyed, but the fact that me and our child are doing well, and no one else was hurt is a victory in my perspective. (Except Parker cutting the heck out of himself trying to find my phone ) We were about half a mile from the destination, so Parker and his dad were there in minutes. I attached pictures because I was so focused on getting Dimitri medically cleared, that I did not know how bad the wreck actually was until Parker showed me yesterday. (Dimitri had some cuts on his head at the edge of his forehead, but as the night went on, it was apparent that so far he seems to not have any head trauma) Thank again to everyone who has contacted us, or send wishes of recovery our way. Your concern, prayers, good thoughts have been so comforting and we are forever grateful.
