Ive had several conversations over the past two days with Zaffar - TopicsExpress

Ive had several conversations over the past two days with Zaffar Iqbal, the Producer of this Sundays RV Sunday programme, as he has put together a package around Jeremy Pembertons story. Zaffar really wanted to get an interview with a senior member of the Church of England so that they could explain authoritatively what the situation is. He got refusals from the Archbishop of Canterburys office, the Archbishop of Yorks office, the media team at Church House, and whichever individual bishops he tired to contact. No-one in the hierarchy of the Church of England wants to talk to the press about a matter which is the biggest issue the Church has to deal with now that the legislation for women in the epsicopate has been passed by General Synod. I feel **!!!!!!** frustrated and angry that none of them has the guts to come out of their closet and own up to the fact that the House of Bishops is totally split on the issue (but in the nicest possible way, of course) and that no-one is willing to commit to an interview this weekend when reports about Jeremy have been carried by many papers and other media outlets. Lambeth and Bishopsthorpe and Church House, this is pathetic, and you are totally failing to allow yourselves to be accountable for matters which are of the deepest concern to LGBTI Anglicans and our friends and to the opinion held by many in this country about the Church of England. So what do you all do? Hide.
