Ive heard this song a thousand times, but it was only today that I truly listened to the lyrics. I was brought to tears while driving home from work when I grasped the meaning if this song. Two very close friends of ours, Jason David and Kim Baca-David, made the decision to give their son Mateo, the opportunity of life, even after being told the odds of him surviving were impossible. For some, the decision to grant life would have been difficult due to the conditions. Not for them! They knew it was not their decision to make and chose to love unconditionally. There is no doubt that they have both suffered pain that no parent should suffer but I know if they had it to do all over again, they wouldnt change their decision. Although they only got to hold Mateo in their arms for three days, it was three days more than Dr.s expected. Every second with him was worth the pain of losing him. God chose them to be Mateos parents because He knew that they would give ALL OF THEMSELVES to Mateo! God couldnt of picked a better Mommy and Daddy for precious Mateo. We serve a mighty God who desires our hearts. If these two can still love God wholeheartedly after what theyve been through, cant we all. We serve a God who heals and mends broken hearts. I urge you friends, if you havent already, give him your heart today. His love for us, is like the parents of Mateo, unconditional.
